  1. Take 6 piece Rohu or any river water fish
  2. Get 1 bunch poi shak(Malabar spinach)
  3. Take 1 onion, finely chopped
  4. Prepare 2 tomatoes chopped
  5. Get 1 tsp chilli powder
  6. Take 1 tsp crushed coriander seeds
  7. Prepare 1/2 tsp turmeric powder
  8. Get 1/2 tsp dry mango powder
  9. Get to taste Salt
  10. Prepare 1/2 tsp fennel seeds
  11. Get 2 tbsp mustard oil
  12. Prepare For grinding -
  13. Get 6-8 garlic cloves
  14. Prepare 1 1/2 tsp mustard seeds
Steps to make Rohu with Poi Shak:
  1. Soak mustard seeds in little water for 15-20 minutes, add garlic cloves and make fine paste.
  2. In a pan heat up oil add fennel seeds and ground masala
  3. Fry till it changes colour slightly
  4. Add coriander, chilli and turmeric powder
  5. Add chopped onion
  6. Fry till onion get soft, add chopped tomatoes and salt.
  7. Fry till tomatoes get mushy
  8. Add poi bhaji by shredding them slightly, do not chop fine.
  9. Fry for few minutes. Add 1/2 cup water and dry mango powder
  10. Add fish pieces, gently fold them in masala in the pan
  11. Simmer till masala thickens and fish is cooked.
  12. Serve with chapati or steamed rice.
